Before any commercial aerial operations can be carried out by a drone operator, the company and drone pilot must be qualified and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority with a Permission for Commercial Operations.

Both Art Studio Photos and myself, the drone operator, have passed and been qualified for the CAA Permission for Commercial Operations. CAA I/d UAS9979. CAA GVC Qualified.

An additional extra drone award TQUK Level 4 has also been passed and awarded.

It is a legal requirement from the CAA that each commercial drone operation has to be operated safely in UK airspace. Therefore, Air Traffic Control permission has been granted where applicable, a risk survey has been carried out, insurance which complies with current legislation is in place including public liability, various airspace requirement checks have been carried out, the drone operator must comply with drone flying rules in terms of height and distance as stated in the Company CAA approved operations manual. For each drone operation all of these requirements will be arranged by us & included in the cost. No worries and stress free for you.

Weather is a factor in any drone flight. We are unable to fly in rain or snow (water on the camera lens makes for a blurry image) also the wind needs to be below 15 mph to obtain clear photos or video (a windy day creates blurred images).

Anyone being paid to fly a drone needs to be an approved operator with a UK CAA Permission for Commercial Operations. This ensures the operator of the drone has the necessary flying skills, knows the safety rules and has insurance. The operator will have attended a specific training course to obtain all the skills and knowledge necessary.

Approved operators will know what is and isn't possible to safely achieve with a drone. They will also have full, comprehensive insurance.

If you hire someone to fly a drone who isn't CAA approved they may not have the required skills or insurance and will be flying illegally.
